Thank you for your letter of 6 April.

The Inspector General of Colonial Police has now At my request examined the complaints and alle-

gations you made, which resulted in the 1963 and

1965 enquiries. He has told me that, while he is

grateful for your offer to supply him with further

documents, he found that the papers already con-

tained your written allegations and complaints.

After thorough examination of your case he has been

unable to find any foundation your allegations

of maladministration and corruption of senior

officers in the Force. He also considers that the

to which your referred

enquiries referred to were adequate.

As for the general allegation of corruption, there

is no doubt that the Hong Kong Government is tackling

this problem vigorously. Police disciplinary

regulations and administrative orders designed to

deal with allegations of corruption in Hong Kong

are the most stringent of all the dependent

territories.
