(ii) by substituting a semicolon for the full

stop at the end thereof and adding the

following new sub-paragraph

-

"(g) in the case of a male inmate, caning,

which shall not exceed twelve

strokes.";

in paragraph (3), by deleting "this regulation"

and substituting the following

"paragraph (2)";

(a) by adding the following new paragraphs

"(4) An inmate may appeal to the

Commissioner against an award made by

the officer-in-charge under paragraph (2),

within forty-eight hours after the making

of the award, by giving notice in writing

to the officer-in-charge, who shall

forthwith notify the Commissioner and

stay execution of the award pending the

determination of the appeal.

(5) The Commissioner may confirm,

vary or reverse the award against which

the appeal is made or may substitute
