The Commission representative expressed his agreement on the suggestion that the Working Party should consider other Asian countries as well as pointing cut that these questions would in any case have to be studied in detail when the Community authorities were asked to define their positions for the purposes of any future GATT negotiations in multilateral agreement on trade in textiles. The Commission would be willing to make an active contribution, on the basis of the communication of September 1972, to the search for Community solutions to the problems posed by imports from those countries, if the Permanent Representatives Committee were to give instructions to that effect to the Working Party on Trade Questions (textiles).
The latter question has not been examined in detail by the Working Party.
The Working Party agreed to submit all the above questions to the Permanent Representatives Committee.
