The CENTRAL OFFICE OF INFORMATION (COI) is a government department which acts as a common service agency to other departments by providing material and services needed to carry out official publicity in Britain and overseas. The administra- tive head of the COI is the Director-General who is assisted by 2 Controllers. There are 8 production divisions, each specialising in the provision of a parti- cular kind of material or service, 2 administrative divisions for establishment and finance matters and a Regional Organisation.
