PHANTOM VISITS TO HONG KONG

1. Whenever operationally convenient, arrangements are made for

a small detachment of Phantom aircraft to fly to Hong Kong while

they are temporarily stationed at Tengah for the twice-yearly Pale

Jade exercise. These aircraft (usually two) remain in Hong Kong for

a maximum of two days and during that time undertake a number of

"flag-waving" fly rasts.

2.

The next Pale Jade exercise is due in March/April but for

operational reasons it will not be possible to release any aircraft

for the flight to Hong Kong. However provisional arrangements have

been made for a Phantom to visit Hong Kong in August during the

subsequent Fale Jade exercise.

3. This is not a contentious matter and the subject is not expected

to be raised during your visit.
