Purpose of visit and country

The Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade conveyed an invitation to the Prime Minister in January. The Prime Minister accepted, leaving dates to be settled later.

China. It has been agreed with the Chinese that M Walker will visit Peking to be present at the opening of the British Industrial Technology Exhibition.

China. It has been agreed with the Chinese that Mr Heseltine will accompany Mr Walker.

Japan. Sir Geoffrey has agreed to visit Tokyo for talks at a convenient time between 22 April and 3 May.

Janan. To attend the opening of the British Farliamentary Exhibition.
