I write with reference to your letter

of the 12th January about the Party of Liberty and Democracy.

We have told Mr. Yun that his petition should have been channelled, as you suggested; and we will suggest how it should be dealt with if he returns to the charge.

Meanwhile you asked to know something about the Party of Liberty and Democracy. thus attaching a copy of a telegram we sent some time ago, giving some basic information. I would add that the Party's current claimed membership is 150; that Mr. Diamond Yun is the present Chairman; that he addresses himself from time to time to various people with the aim of advancing his views and making himself known; and that, as the Party is of so little significance, we normally respond at a low level.
