Other forms of pollution of waters of Hong Kong.
71D. (1) Any person who casts or
deposits into the waters of Hong Kong any
dead body, ballast, rubbish or other
substance without the written permission of
the Director shall be guilty of an offence
and shall be liable on conviction to a
fine of twenty thousand dollars and to
imprisonment for six months.

(2) Without prejudice to anything
contained in subsection (1), where any dead
body, ballast, rubbish or other substance
is cast or deposited from any vessel into
the waters of Hong Kong the owner, master,
agent or charterer of the vessel shall be
guilty of an offence and shall be liable
on conviction to a fine of twenty thousand
dollars and to imprisonment for six months.'
Amendment of
section 96.
5. Section 96 of the principal Ordinance is amended
in subsection (1) by deleting the definition of "launch"
and substituting the following
:
""launch" means any mechanically propelled vessel
of European type not exceeding three hundred
tons which is designed or used for
(a)
the conveyance of persons or things;
