Security
The Embassy and Govt House will be responsible for the general security of the Private Office including the provision of Security Officers throughout working hours and the safe overnight custody of classified material. The RMP Detachment will be responsible for safe-hand duties between the embassy and the Guest House in Peking. A suite of conference boxes will be taken on the aircraft for use in Peking.

Programme and Entertainment
(a) The Programme for the Visit will be issued separately.

In intertainment Allowance for the Secretary of State
and the Head of News Department has been authorised. Both Posts are asked to make a small supply of duty- free liquor and cigarettes available as required.

The Chinese Govt have been asked to supply an adequate number of vehicles. Allocation of cars will be notified on arrival.

Clothing and Weather Conditions
(a) Peking
Crisp, dry and possibly windy weather with temperatures sometimes below freezing. Outdoor winter clothes,
especially for visits to, for example, the Great Wall. Strong central heating indoors so medium weight clothing. No black tie required.
(b) Hong Kong
English summer temperatures.
