Hong Kong Federation of Students (H.KF.S.)

This organisation is a federation of students unions of

the two universities and six post-secondary colleges. The student unions of the following are its members:-

a)

University of Hong Kong

b)

Chinese University of Hong Kong

Lingnam College

Hong Kong Baptist College

Sir Robert Black College of Education

Northcote College of Education

It claims to represent over 12,000 students and its officals are students from the universities and post-secondary colleges. Its premises are at 23C, Waterloo Road, Kowloon. It usually represents Hong Kong in dealings with international student bodies.

The stated aim of the H.K.F.S. is "to provide

representation of post-secondary colleges in Hong Kong in academic and student affairs as well as within the Colony and in liaison with international student bodies. It also interests itself in local issues and has appointed committees to investigate and promote student suppor for causes of public interest".

4.

During the past few years, the H.K.F.S. has been actively engaged in social and student affairs such as :-

a)

The use of Chinese an an official language campaign.

b)

The protection of Tiao Yu Tai movement.

c)

Support for blind workers in Hong Kong Society for the Blind dispute.
