My dear Mr. Roke.
H.KD.
After my return to Hong Kong I look back with great appreciation and interest on my visit and discussion with you and Sir Leslie at your Office.
I was very glad to learn that the U.K. Government had decided to allocate a sum of £400,000 to help equip the technical institutes in Hong Kong. This fine gesture expresses eloquently your Government's concern for the well-being of Hong Kong. It also reminds us of our good fortune of having two friends in Whitehall who have the best interests of the Hong Kong community at heart. We in Hong Kong are grateful to you for all your endeavours.
