Mr. Bottomley's visit to Hong Kong
Commodities Department will be preparing a brief on the possibility of a non-cotton textile agreement between Hong Kong and the United States.
2. Export Promotion Department have asked CRE and ESB in DTI for details of export promotion problems and will be preparing a brief.
3. As suggested by Mr. Wilford, the notes prepared for the House of Lords debate on Dependent Territories together with the fact sheet may be adequate to give Mr. Bottomley the short note on Hong Kong for which he asks. He is unlikely to want to become involved in detailed discussions on specific problems during his short visit to the Colony. A copy of the Hong Kong Personalities list may be useful for him.
4. There is no BNEC set-up in Hong Kong. The BNEC Hong Kong Trade Advisory Group in UK deals with Mr. Blackwell through CRE 2 of DTI.
