As it was impossible for Princess Alexandra to include Hong Kong in the itinerary of the visit to Singapore end Bangkok in August, 1969, I understand that Her Royal Highness offered to visit Hong Kong in 1970. The way has not been clear before to follow up this suggestion, but the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary would now welcome it if Her Royal llighness could undertake the visit in the spring of next year in her capacity as Commandant-General of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force.
Sir David Trench has put forward the following dates for consideration:
Friday, 26 March - Wednesday, 31 March, 1971
or Thursday, 1 April Wednesday, 7 April, 1971
or
Thursday, 22 April - Wednesday, 28 April, 1971.
I should be grateful to know whether any of these dates are convenient, assuming that lier Royal Highness is willing to make the visit. Should these dates not be suitable, we will suggest alternative dates.
