DEPARTMENTAL NOTICE
MINISTERIAL VISITS COMMITTEE
The Committee will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, 19 May at 3.00 p.m.
2. Departments are asked to ensure, wherever possible, that any submissions they may be preparing on ministerial visits overseas reach the appropriate member of the Committee in time for the meeting. Where it is not possible to submit a final recommendation by that time, members of the Committee will be glad to receive interim briefing. I should be grateful to receive copies of all submissions and briefs.
3. I should also be grateful if I might be informed by mid day on Friday, 15 May of the gist of any new proposals and of any modifications to or progress on proposals considered at the last meeting of the Committee (15 April); this is to enable me to prepare the Committee's agenda. Copics of submissions to members of the Committee will be more than sufficient if they are ready by 15 May; if they arc not, I hope I may be given an outline of what is proposed by telephone by that time. It would also bo of assistance to me if I could be informed of nil roturns.
4.
I have, in addition, been asked to inform the Committce of any incoming visits which might necessitate Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers remaining in London. This is to help the Committee to ensure that there is an adequate complement of Ministers in the Office at all times. should be very grateful if Departments would let me know of any new visits by 15 May.
