On the completion of the tunnel towards the end of 1971, the Hung Hom Fairway will resort to its original boundaries, which will be prescribed by further amending regulations when the need arises in about two years.
The Merchant Shipping (Control of Ports) (Amendment) Regulations 1970 will give effect to these re-alignments and enable the Governor by notice in the Gazette to bring into operation the amended boundaries when they are required.

These regulations are acceptable to the Port Executive Committee.
Honourable Members will be asked to advise, under section 70 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, whether the Merchant Shipping (Control of Ports) (Amendment) Regulations 1970 should be made.
