EXEC TIVE COUNCIL DECISION OF 29.9.70
The Council considered memorandum XCR(70)303.
The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED:
(a) that the recommendations of the Housing Board as modified by the memorandum and by (b) below be adopted;
(b) that new building programmes for the 6-year
period 1969-1975 of 300,000 individual unite of resettlement accommodation, and 290,000 units of Government Low-cost Housing be adopted, pending any further recommendation of the Housing Foard on the deferred Xwai Chung Estate;
(c) that these proposals be subject, where
necessary, to the provision of funds by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council.
The Council aleo ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED:
(a) that the flousing Board be asked to re-examine the current amortisation periods and interest rates mentioned in paragraphs 6 and 7 of the memorandum;
(b) that the Housing Board be asked to consider
whether the public assistance scheme, when fully operational, might assist in deciding the allocation of Low-cost Housing;
(c) that the Housing Board be asked to consider
whether the number of units for resettlement on compassionate grounds ought or ought not to be increased.
