Problem

Krs. Hart has invited Lord Chalfont to join her in an

informal discussion with Mr. William Rodgers on 8 January about

the question of overscas pensions. She wishes to exchange

views on an C.D.H. paper on our future policy with regard to

overseas pensions. This paper has been circulated to the

Recommendation

2. The Minister of State should support Mro. Hart in her

proposals for H.M.G. to take over some of the pensions

obligations now resting with overseas governments but there are

certain respects in which we want to see the proposals extended.
