REDIFFUSION

While I was in Hong Kong I was able to speak to the Attorney General about Rediffusion.

I gave him a copy of Mr. Dennis's letter to me, together with the first annex containing the draft undertaking. At first sight Mr. Roberts thought that the proposal might well be helpful and he undertook to look at it and send us further word.

2. Have you, in fact, communicated Rediffusion's letter officially to Hong Kong?

3. I had a chance to talk to Mr. Royle about this on one of our journeys and he is undoubtedly perturbed about the effect which trying to force a contentious bill through the Commons might have on the Chief Whip. I do not know whether he recorded this on the papers.
