Part A.

Reference.

Sir Arthow Grattan-Belin

In our telegram at (42) we informed the Governor of Hong Kong that Ministers had agreed to the enactment of the Prevention of Bribery Bill (copy at front cover) subject to certain amendments specified in the telegram.

2. As a result of our telegram, the Bill was further considered in the Hong Kong Executive Council who approved an amended version for publication and introduction into the Legislative Council. The amended version is behind (50).

3. The enacted Ordinance will, of course, come to us in due course for notification of non-disallowance, but you may wish to examine the Bill behind (50) to make sure that it meets the requirements stipulated in our telegram at (42).

4.

So far as, I can judge, it does so.
