Dear Keshi
Flag C. 52 perous file
You wrote to us on 9th October concerning the arrangements for determining the level of defence contribution for the post-1971 period. We are working on this problem here, but are currently rather held up on account of some difficulty in interpreting locally the figures set out in Annex B to your letter. We asked the military authorities here if we could have some break-down of the projects to which these figures relate, and I am given to understand that they have had to go back to the Ministry of Defence for clarification. It seems possible that when this has been gone into in the Ministry they may communicate some further figures to you, and if so, perhaps you would pass them on to us as soon as is practicable. Meantime there is, I think, nothing useful that I can pass on to you concerning our examination of this problem.
