COMPOSITION AND DEPLOYMENT

Other Army combat forces are those forces stationed abroad to

meet Commonwealth and treaty commitments. The outline deployment is

as follows:

The Far East (excluding Hong Kong) By the end of 1971,

as the British Army's contribution to Five Power Commonwealth

defence arrangements, a battalion group, including an artillery

battery, an engineer troop and an Army Aviation detachment in Singapore; and staff concerned with jungle warfare training 7.

In Brunei, a Gurkha battalion. Continued reductions in headquarters

and logistics staffs.
