EEC Briefing Meetings

I spoke to Pakenham of E.I.D. and told him Hong Kong wish to be invited, in the person of their Commissioner in London, to briefing meetings here. I mentioned the importance to Hong Kong of Britain's entry into EEC and the large trade that Hong Kong has which may be affected.

2.

Packenham tells me that there is a meeting on 27 July in regard to these briefing meetings. He asks whether he could have a copy of any submission made to Mr. Wilford on this point before then.

3. Draft submission herewith.
