Haddon-Cave to be appointed Financial Secretary next year
The Secretary of State has approved the appointment of Mr. Philip Haddon-Cave to succeed Sir John Cowperthwaite as Financial Secretary when Sir John departs on retirement leave in the early summer of 1971.

Mr. Haddon-Cave, who is at present Deputy Financial Secretary, is leaving for London tomorrow to begin a two months attachment at the Bank of England, the Treasury and a number of other government departments, in preparation for taking up his appointment. He will return to Hong Kong before the end of November.
