IN VIRTUE OF POWERS vested in me,
I, DAVID CLIVE CROSBIE TRENCH, Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, upon whom
has been conferred the Decoration of the Military Cross, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, do by these presents appoint you
HERBERT JOHN CHARLES BROWNE
Justice of the Peace, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure,
to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council of Hong
Kong with effect from 30th May 1970, during the absence from the Colony
of Mr John Douglas CLAGUE, Commander of the Most Excellent Order
of the British Empire, upon whom has been conferred the Decoration of
the Military Cross, Queen's Police Medal, Territorial Decoration,
Justice of the Peace.
