The Government of Hong Kong today announced that after
consultation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office it has
decided that the various Hong Kong Government agencies in London
should be co-ordinated in one organisation under the control of the head of the Hong Kong Gout. More here) to future)

London.
The position is at present held by Mr. P. C. M. Sedgwick,
C", who was appointed head of the Hong Kong Government Office

here three years ago after holding a number of senior posts in
the Hong Kong Government. He is due to retire at the end of this
month and will be succeeded as Administrative Commissioner by
Mr. A. M. J. Wright, CMO, until recently Director of Public Works
in the Colony.
The Hong Kong Government Agencies in London which are affected
by this reorganisation are the Hong Kong Students Office and the
Hong Kong Chinese Liaison Office, both at present located at
Abbey House, Victoria Street; and Hong Kong House, a residential
hotel and club for Hong Kong students, at Lancaster Gate.
The office will control and co-ordinate the activities of
the various agencies and will continue to liaise with those Departments of Her Majesty's Government which deal with matters disseminate of concern to the Colony It will also continue to co-ordinate
information on Hong
Kong
the Hong Kong Government's public relations activities in Britain
and to advise the Hong Kong Government on commercial and
industrial developments in this country.
