REPORT ON THE

REFORM OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT

THE Report of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Future Scope and Operation of the Urban Council was adopted by a motion moved at the Urban Council meeting held on 4th October, 1966.

2. In moving the motion the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, Mr. A. de O. SALES, stated that the report was an outline for study and that, at the appropriate time, more study in depth would be required before putting the report into effect. This was considered by the Stand- ing Committee of the Whole Council at a meeting on 8th November, 1966, when it was agreed to set up sub-committees to study in detail the scope, finance, ward areas and organization for the future Council.
