Thereafter, in order to meet the special circumstances existing in Hong Kong, consideration could be given to amending section 17 of the District Court Ordinance (Cap.5) and section 99 of the Magistrate Courts Ordinance (Cap. 227) so as to give district judges and magistrates wider powers for dealing with contempt, but not such wide powers as those possessed by the Supreme Court.
