НК

Dear Sirs,

16th September 1969.

Recently Her Majesty the Queen bestowed the honour

of using the prefix 'Royal' to the Hong Kong Police Force and the Hong

Kong Police Auxiliary Force.

I have been directed by my Committee to ask the Minister

to advise me as to whether or not the same prefix may be used by the Hong Kong Police Association.

The Association was formed in 1938 and its objects are

described in the attached Application for lembership form. The usual

attendance at our annual Re-Union is 130, out of a total of 270 members

in Britain and overseas. The current President is Mr H.W.E.Heath, CMG,

Commissioner of Police until 1966, and the Vice-President is Mr. A.R.S.

Major, ex-Assistant Commissioner of police. The Chairman, Vice-Chairman and other officers and Committee members are all ex-members of the Royal Hong Kong Police.

For your assistance, I enclose three copies of the

application for membership form, and three copies of the Rules of the

Association.

Our Annual General Meeting and Re-Union will be held on

the 18th October next; perhaps you can give me some indication before that date of Her Majesty's decision.
