he carried a special sign on his van. The signs were changed frequently and indicated to the police that the driver should

not be arrested. One of them described to us his first

brush with the system. Mr. Hung.

Interpreter (Mr. Hung): That morning about 8 o'clock I remember I was travelling along in King's Road. A certain

motor squad, said they'd look my van all over, back to the kerb. He said "your van had none of these insignia, none of these initials, how dare you travel on our road." I was pretty I dont know what that man was hinting about.

What were these insignia meant to be?

Interpreter: The syndicate have their own personal private numbers, I'm told, in order to tell between the sheep and the goats. Well I didn't join the syndicate then, I didn't know anything about it, therefore, my van had none of these permitted signs, so he pointed a finger and said "Now back to the kerb". He said, "You have none of your new numbers and no permitted code name, how dare you use our road. I warn you". So the motor cycle squad policeman said, "Now I give you warning, tomorrow if you still dare to appear on the roads without those signs I'll take you in." So next day I stopped naturally. My van couldn't move but other people's vans I see moving freely around and I ask why?
