Exports of Cotton Textiles (except varns
to the Benelux:
Introduction of Export Authorisation Scheme
On the advice of the Cotton Advisory Board, quota in categories with specific limits has been allocated to companies in the following manner

(a) to the extent of their past shipment performance in the
newly restrained items (i.e. all categories other than the six categories restrained under the 1967 Undertaking); and
(b) on the basis of their 1967/68 performance plus growth" in
the six categories previously restrained under the 1967 Undertaking.

There are now balances of quota remaining in eight of the categories with specific limits, and it has been decided on the advice of the Cotton Advisory Board that these quantities should be made generally available under an export authorisation scheme open to all comers on a first-come-first-served basis. No company may apply for more than 10% of the balance available in each category.
