Statistical Background Materials for the Consultations between Hong Kong and Norway

Notes:

The following tables cover the textile products listed in the annexes to the current agreement.

The tables show for each item:

(a) Imports to Norway from Hong Kong compared with

imports from other sources, and the Hong Kong share of total imports. These figures are based upon the Norwegian statistical classification (BTN) and they are not always in conformity with the Hong Kong export classification.

Which cases?

Furthermore, the change in the Norwegian classi- fication that took place 1st January, 1969, has in many cases made it impossible to compare the imports after that date with imports in the previous years.

The Norwegian production. As the figures are partly based upon estimates, they can only give information about the order of magnitude and the trends.

The Norwegian exports. The notes to the statistics on the imports relate also to these figures.
