QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, how large is the tex-

tile share in this country?

cotton it is 10.5 percent; in the case of man made's, 4.5

percent, over-all.

Europe, I haven't seen, a figure for Europe as a whole, but

it varies from a very small percent in some of the Western

European countries to a large percent say in a country like

the U.K.

Some of the Common Market countries are very

small and the U.K. is fairly large. Of course, the man

made's which is the lowest percentage is the one that is

growing the fastest.
