Statement by the United Kingdom Delegate on Dependent Territories

In the second paragraph on page 23 of TC/PREF/69.22 there

is a statement to the effect that countries, territories or

regions, claiming developing status should make their applications

without delay. My delegation has not yet formally given any

indication of its position with respect to our dependent

territories in a generalized system of preferences.

I therefore wish on behalf of my Government formally to

clain developing status, and therefore the benefit of preferences,

for all the United Kingdom's dependent territories without
