in Canberra tel.No.170 of 1963. The principal function of ANZAN
and Uck
in practice has been coordination of ANZ plans in support of
SEATO. It has also provided a forum for intelligence exchanges
and reviews.
Up to 1971
The planners' report recommends that ANZAM should
continue broadly on present lines up to 1971 though with changes
on the SEATC planning side to take account of the ending of U.K.
force declarations.

After 1971
It is recommended that similar arrangements should
continue under the name of ANZUK but:
(1) it would have a predominantly consultative
rather than planning function;

"South-East Asia and the general Indian and
Western Pacific Ocean Area";
