Mr. Tennant has asked for written notes on all the countries he is to visit, covering political, economic and, where appropriate, defence matters. will also be grateful for brief notes on any points of general information or local custom of which visitors should be aware. Brief personality notes on leading individuals he is likely to meet in each country, and the names of senior staff in British Diplomatic Missions will also be required.
13. The Board of Trade are preparing the economic
notes and the ODM are preparing briefs on aid aspects (but would you please check details with the officers concerned). I should be grateful if you would prepare
of the country with briefs on the political and general aspects and let
me have two copies in final form by Tuesday
