not think we could accept the risk involved in
a visit to Hong Kong, although we agree with
you that a visit by Her Majesty would be
tremendously welcome and would do much to
improve the feelings of Hong Kong people towards
the U.K.
I am taking up separately the possibility of
a visit by Prince Charles. As you know he is due
to go up to Cambridge next October and we do not
yet know when he will be available to undertake
this kind of tour.
