(iv) The view was unanimously expressed that the
Agong was not really a suitable
representative, and that it would be best

to delete the suggestion for a visit by
the present Agong in 1968.
(v) I said that, while we had accepted the
reasons why a visit to Malaysia could not be".
paid at this time, I still attached
importance to such a visit, and asked that it
should be kept on the schedule as a

possibility for the future. This was agreed.
(vi) I drew attention to the fact that the
original intention had been that there might
be two visits by foreign Heads of State and
one by a Commonwealth Head of State. As a
result of our discussion there would be no
Commonwealth visits in 1968, 69 and 70, and
there had been none this year.
Nevertheless,
I myself did not wish to put forward a
candidate, since I did not think that, after
the visits of the Presidents of India and
Pakistan, there were really any suitable
candidates left, though we should perhaps

consider a visit by the Agong in the event of
a change from the present holder of the post.
