Addressed to Governor Hong Kong telegram No. 75 of 5 September

Repeated for information to Foreign Office

(57)

Your telegram No. 56: Water.

Japanese Health Ministry say that Japan would probably be able to supply water but details will not be available for one week. It appears likely that special installation of pipes and pumping equipment would be required.

2. In the meantime B.P. are investigating possibility of supplies from Kyushu Oil Company and Maruzen, both of which were suggested in 1963/64. We are also in touch with Shell.

3. We should be glad to know what your minimum requirements for purity are.

Foreign Office pass Governor Hong Kong 75.

Mr. Shaw
