I have already expressed to you my very sincere
gratitude to Evans and Simms for the great help they
have given us in our examination of the water problem
in Hong Kong. I enclose a copy of a letter I have
sent to Will Mathieson at the Ministry of Overseas
Development, about the possibility of finding employment
for Willmot-Morgan, the Director of Water Resources,
Hong Kong, if he is obliged to resign from Hong Kong next year owing to his wife's ill-health. I do not know whether you yourself will have met Willmot-Morgan, but
I know a lot of your people have indeed, Evans and Simms
kindly contacted him on our behalf at the end of last
week over the Hong Kong water problem.
I thought I would bring this personal problem of his to your notice just in case the Crown Agents might feel that they would have suitable employment which they
might offer him if, in the event, he does have to retire
from the Hong Kong Government service next year.
