I am therefore writing to you, as provided for in Article III.1 of the Agreement between the People's Council of Kwang tung Province and the Hong Kong Authorities, to confirm that we should like to draw water at the rate of 62.5 million gallons a day between now and the end of September. We can accept this water even if heavy rain should fall in Hong Kong during the period. We should be most grateful for any assistance you can give in expediting this matter so that we may at the earliest possible moment restore a daily supply to Hong Kong.

We understood from the meeting held in November 1966 that the price of additional water would be not more than the current rate of $1.06 per thousand gallons.
8.
I enclose our monthly statement of requirements for August. We usually pass this information by hand to your Muk Wu station but last week we were advised by a member of your staff to send it by post.
9.
I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Tan Kan of the New China News Agency in Hong Kong.
Yours faithfully,
(A.M.J. Wright) Water Authority.
