me to say that 2. Z bince my acknowledgment was sent to you, the question has been raised on several occasions in the House and

no doubt have noted the answer given

by the Minister of State, Mrs. Judith Hart, on

27 June, in which she announced that we have

been discussing with the Governor legislation

providing for a phased reduction in the hours

of work over a specific period to 48 a week

for all women and young persons employed in

industry, with adjustments to permissible

overtime.

2/hopes therefore that it will not be long

before we are able to announce positive

proposals for this long-awaited improvement

in the hours of work of women and young

persons.
