It is hoped to have the first necting of the reconstituted Police
Training Committee before the end of the year.
10. Conclusions

(i) My visits to countries participating in the Police Training
Programme were both productive and useful.
There is a keenness
and desire on the part of these countries to take advantage of
training facilities available in Malaysia.
(ii) There was considerable interest in the possibility of obtaining
police training in the United Kingdom. I hope it may be possible to offer courses, study-visits etc. to selected officers from Burna, Thailand, the Philippines and possibly Jaos.
(iii) It is obvious that the Police Training Schene has assisted
countries in the South East Area to become more efficient
generally and more effective in countering communist and other
forms of subversion.
(iv) The Police Training Schene plays an important part in helping to
bring peace and stability to the Area.

(v) Malaysia gains prestige and good will as the "donor" country.
Finally I wish to thank all Missions and Posts for the arrangements nade for ny visit to cach country, and for the hospitality and assistance given me by members of the staff at the various Missions and Posts. was well received by all ranks of Police Forces in the countries I visited and was given the inpression that my visit had been well worth while. I would hope that the objectives I set myself were by and large achieved.
