4th Witness, G.J. Batts, S/Inspector, Hong Kong Police Force.
I am attached to Special Branch, Hong Kong Police Force.
On 21st October, 1961, I was in charge of a Police party which
entered and searched 4, Ko Shan Road, 2nd floor. During the
course of this search I seized a large number of documents, most
of them written in Chinese. I took possession of these documents
and took them to Chatham Road Compound. I have retained certain
documents in my possession since that time. On 15th December, 1961,
I gave certain of these documents to LEUNG Mo Shum, interpreter
translator, with certain instructions, and subsequently received
the same documents from him together with handwritten translations. These translations were typewritten in my presence (I now produce
as Exhibit 'C' the translations referred to above together with the Chinese originals). (All these documents read over to S/Sgt. CHU Leung).
Cross-Examination by S/Sgt. CHU Leung Nil
