George Thomson has asked me to reply to your letter of 8 February about the case involving

Chu Loung.

We entirely agree that this case has been dragging on and share your desire for a speedy conclusion. But as George Thomson said in his written reply to your Question on 7 November, this is a difficult case; and unfortunately the consulta- tions to which he referred are still going on.

I am, however, conscious of the time that has elapsed since you first raised this matter and I am endeavouring to ensure that a decision will be reached in the very near future. I will write to you again

as quickly as possible.
