b. Another anomaly was that Polaris submarines were earmarked for assignment to SACIANT, while the missiles which they carried were assigned to SACEUR: this would need to be resolved at a later date.

It was agreed that the paper should be revised as proposed by the Deputy Under-
Secretary (Policy) and would be re-considered together with DP 10/68.
Summing up, SIR CHARIES ELWORTHY said they would invite the Deputy Under-Secretary (Policy) to revise the paper, based on their discussion and on the views of the Service Departments, and would consider the revised paper at the same time as DP 10/68 at their meeting on 9th April 1968.
