Confirm do not intend further reinforcement Hong Kong to cover the Army period of "double tenth" unless the situation there deteriorates. Commander on his recent visit to Hong Kong discussed possibility of relieving Battalion and one to be relieved overlapping in "double tenth" period. This would give rise to many complications and we do not consider it necessary or desirable particularly as FEAF helicopters will have reached Hong Kong by then (Reference B).

Za

Two flights of RAF Regiment for IS training (reference C) and HMS TRIUMPH will also still be there.

3.

Additionally we are considering possibility of a fighter detachment.
