Appendix 1 to Annex A to (49) in SCR 54/3371/67 dated 8th December, 1967.

1.

POINTS OF AGREEMENT

Access by C.T. Citizens. It has been agreed that recognised crossing places would be kept open provided that C.T. personnel behave in a reasonably orderly manner in B.T.

2.

Obstacles. We have agreed to remove such parts of the 1962 fence as interfere with C.T. farmers' land, on the understanding that our work in strengthening or relocating the primary fence is not interfered with.

3.

Safety of C.T. Citizens. We have given an assurance as to the personal safety of C.T. citizens when they cross to work their fields or to visit villages in B.T., so long as they behave in a reasonably orderly manner.

We

Study and Propagation of the Thoughts of Mao. have given an assurance that C.T. citizens would have the right to study and propagate the thoughts of Mao while engaging in activities in paragraph 3 above, provided that in doing so, they observe the laws of Hong Kong.
