Following is text of Press release made this morning 20 November:-

2.

"Insp. Knight was picked up by a military vehicle on the British side of the border at about 0730 hours this morning 20 November. He is very tired and is under medical care. Meanwhile enquiries are proceeding into how he succeeded in returning to British territory".

In response to enquiries we will add :-

(a)

He was dressed in police uniform, without badges or shoes and was in wet clothes;

(b)

He was picked up near Ta Kwu Ling;

(c)

(a)

There is still no news of the two constables;

Depending on Knight's condition and the progress of enquiries a further statement may be possible later this evening.
