201530 Attention Glover.

Senior Inspector Frank Knight who was abducted into China last month was picked up at about half past seven this Monday morning by

a military vehicle on British side of border.

He is very tired and is now repeat now receiving medical

attention,

Meanwhile enquiries are proceeding into how he succeeded in returning

to British territory.

Inspector Knight was forcibly taken over Man Kam To bridge into

China on 14 October.

He had been hearing requests made by farmers from Chinese side about wire which was put up in 1962 on land acquired by a lawful process after compensation for crops was paid and accepted by these farmers from Chinese territory.

Forcible abduction came at end of a long series of talks held between various Security Officers and Government officials and

farmers.
