We do not know extent to which Press expect or are given advance information of visits of U.S. warships. But so far as changes in movements of such ships are concerned we should have thought that it would not be necessary to give any explanation in response to Press inquiries beyond a reference to a change of programme. We realise that this would involve co-operation of U.S. authorities but can see no reason why this should not be forthcoming.
